En byhund på landet... / A city dog in the countryside...

In English down below:

In English:

When we got Vaks, all the people inside the Animal Protection Shelter were really happy at Vaks's behalf, that he was going to live in the countryside. We also think that it was perfect for a small dog to stay with us here in the countryside. A nice free life for a dog. I myself love to stay here and chase a cat once in a while.

But Vaks is actually a little different. He is not only afraid, no, he is terrified of a lot of scary things.

He's scared when the wind blows in the treetops!
He's scared when it thunders!
He's scared when the neighbor's tarpaulin, which he laid over the straw bales, is flapping in the wind!
He's scared when it is raining!
He is even afraid of the dark in the garden, so mom must go with him in the evening, or he will not go outside.

But what he is not afraid, and it might otherwise scare me, it's big trucks and other dangerous things that exist in the city:

He is not afraid of wailing police cars!
He is not afraid of big buses that make sounds when braking and then open the doors with a pfft!
So it's not like he's a scary pants. He just never lived in the country before hearing all the sounds of the countryside. But I'll teach him that all the noises are okay, here in the countryside.

See you next time.

  2. LOL Vaks sounds like a city dog indeed. No worries as I don't like flapping things either and lightning is another thing that scares me. So we are in good company.
Have a serene easy Sunday now.

    Best wishes Molly

  5. Our "granddog" Pierre was terrified of everything in our backyard when he first moved in with us. Now he thinks he is King Vermin Killer! Vaks will get used to the new noises too.
